In March 2020, during the first COVID-19 lockdown, everything stopped... except our imaginations. In this suspended parenthesis, we imagined the ultimate speaker: a speaker without compromise, capable of reproducing the full richness of the sound spectrum, from infra-bass to ultrasound, with transparency, speed and natural that only technology isodynamic can offer, all with perfect consistency.
As a providential sign, at that precise moment, we received a call from Philippe Teissier du Cros, an exceptional sound engineer who has been collaborating with our favorite musicians for years. He immediately agreed to join us in this ambitious project. Together, from our passionate discussions and shared reflections, the specifications for the Diptyque Reference.
We have challenged all existing technical solutions, particularly for controlling low frequencies, going all the way down to the infra-bass, while preserving power and control. Our research and innovations have given rise to an entirely new technology, now patented: the “Crossed Push Pull”.

Each bass cell is powered by two independent windings (vertical and horizontal), composed of ribbons. This exclusive architecture allows the mylar membrane to vibrate 22 um using hundreds of small square motors. The system “Crossed Push Pull” ensures total vibration control, guaranteeing deep, linear, distortion-free bass with unmatched efficiency compared to existing isodynamic systems.
For the midrange section, we designed a new 20mm isodynamic tape, covering a wide spectrum of 600 to 7000 Hz, while the 8mm pure aluminum super tweeter allows reproduction of high frequencies up to 40 Hz.
